SimpleSox… It’s Modular, It’s Adjustable and It’s Available Off The Shelf
Introducing SimpleSox from DuctSox.
A SimpleSox System is an adjustable fabric air dispersion system assembled with pre-made components. The versatility of a SimpleSox System is unmatched as you can easily adjust both the volume and direction of air as well as the location of where the air will be discharged both during and after installation. SimpleSox Systems are based on traditional metal duct systems where air is discharged in zones rather than uniform air dispersion that is typical of DuctSox Systems.
The ideal market for SimpleSox are smaller projects under £1,800.00, including material and labour. They can be used in shops, commercial build-outs, floor re-configurations, manufacturing/warehousing industrial plant retrofits, and many other open ceiling applications. SimpleSox are not intended for the plan and spec new construction process, but could include some design build projects.
The potential buyers are small mechanical contractors and “existing” end users especially in the industrial and commercial markets. This does not rule out larger mechanical contractors since they have opportunities to use SimpleSox in all these markets.
Initially, white is the only colour stocked in volume. Silver and taupe are available, but will affect lead times. The SimpleSox fabric is non-porous so you may need to be careful in air conditioned applications where high heat and humidity can continually enter the conditioned space.
There are many resources available for designing SimpleSox Systems including a brochure that combines the Sales Literature and Design Manual, a SimpleSox Selection Guide (slide chart), and numerous other resources that we’d be happy to send you – you only need to ask – call us on 0845 057 3097.
Because SimpleSox Systems are modular and are made with pre-made components, DuctSox will not provide designs and drawings as we do with traditional DuctSox Systems which are custom engineered and designed for each project.

DuctSox Cools Hottest Place in Australia!
Name of Project: Marble Bar Recreation Centre
Location: Marble Bar, Western Australia
Marble Bar is renowned as the hottest town in Australia due to the record heat wave of 1923/24. The Guinness Book of Records lists the highest maximum temperature reached in Marble Bar as 49.2 degrees C (121 degrees F). When the non-air conditioned Recreation Centre underwent a recent refurbishment, the air conditioning contractor decided to use DuctSox as an alternative to metal spiral duct.
Why they chose DuctSox?
Due to the high freight costs that would be incurred with transporting the spiral lengths from Perth to Marble Bar, the DuctSox System offered a lower on-site and installed cost and an accelerated program. The system also allowed the client the flexibility to select a colour from a wide range of standard colours available. The DuctSox design was engineered to suit the required air distribution within the Centre.
Specifications: Black Verona fabric, Comfort-Flow using 1-row suspension, galvanized cable
Benefits of using DuctSox for Marble Bar:
- Superior Air Dispersion: Small hall in hot location.
- Simplified Design: One straight run centrally located with even air distribution.
- Simple & Easy Installation: As a remote town, local electrician installed the fabric.
- Cost Savings, Lightweight, and Easy Shipping: All helped save transportation costs!
- Air Porous: Ideal for local environment with no risk of condensation.
- Color: Selected a black fabric to blend in with its surroundings.
Remember DuctSox for your next project – these benefits might make the difference! Not to mention the fact that DuctSox cools the hottest place in Australia!

Introducing KitchenSox from DuctSox, Reducing Drafts and Condensation Risks in Commercial Kitchen Design
Looking for ways to improve comfort, safety, and cleanliness in commercial kitchen environments has been a challenge up to now.
The latest product innovation from fabric ducting specialist, DuctSox Corp, tackles all these issues providing yet another unique winning solution for:
- Tackles draft issues
- Combats food safety concerns
- Increases employee comfort
Commercial and industrial kitchens require high volumes of supply airflow with minimal drafts for nearby exhaust hoods and equipment. With conventional diffusers, there are many common problems that can affect employee comfort and food safety.
KitchenSox products offer commercial kitchen projects the answer. They eliminate drafts and condensation and they include an active antimicrobial treatment and can be easily removed for laundering.
D-Fuser MetalPan
MetalPan models offer the convenience of a modular “drop-in” metal diffuser, but adds flexibility to easily remove the 6 inch deep fabric dispersion face.
Retrofit kits are available for common diffusers.
D-Fuser All-Fabric
All-Fabric models move the diffusion panel and structure below the ceiling. The inlet collar is the only component above the ceiling. This option protrudes 9 inches into the space and is fully launderable.
Traditional
For more challenging applications, KitchenSox products can be configured to meet the challenges of an individual space. These include our Cylindrical, D-Shape, and Quarter Round shapes.
Maintenance
Sanitation is critical in kitchens. The air dispersion panels of KitchenSox are easily removed and laundered. Spare fabric air dispersion panels reduce kitchen downtime.
Fabrics commonly used for KitchenSox may be up to 55% recycled content and include an active antimicrobial treatment.

Announcing the All New and Improved D-Shape Fabric Duct for Surface Mounted Ducting
The already successful DuctSox D-Shape fabric duct suspension system designed specifically for surface mounted applications has been updated and improved with the following enhancements:
A much more sleek and refined finish: designed now so that the majority of the track is concealed as you can see from the photo above, giving the best possible overall finish where ducting is required for closed ceiling applications.
A totally smooth look: this new improvement allows the ends of the ducting to be pulled tighter during installation, enhancing the finished appearance.
Cheaper delivery costs: now manufactured in 2.5m [8ft] length sections ensuring a more standardised shipping size.
Much easier to install: if it’s easier to install it will be cheaper too! We’ve manufactured the fixing so that the cord now slides more easily into the track.
The pricing of these systems hasn’t been affected so they are as cost-effective as ever and now easier and cheaper to specify and install for all closed ceiling applications.
The DuctSox D-Shape fabric duct suspension systems delivers lower discharge velocity better air dispersion and lower noise levels than conventional flat-faced metal diffusers in critical environments. They are also available in a range of recycled and active antimicrobial materials.

Aldi uses DuctSox ‘Comfort Flow’ in their Supermarket
Large retailers are gradually wising up to the many benefits of switching to fabric duct for their new stores and refurbishments.
One of the latest to realise the financial savings together with ease of installation is rapidly growing discount supermarket brand Aldi.
Aldi’s low-cost reputation seems to be bearing fruit and may be a clue to their decision to use the more cost-effective DuctSox Verona fabric duct product. Verona is manufactured incorporating the Comfort Flow design which delivers air through linear vents providing a gentle air flow – just right for the comfort of high occupancy levels of their customers.
Their choice of suspension was an equally cost-effective solution – a simple 2-row tension cable. The tension cable system consists a cable and securing hardware for the simplest of installation and is available for the DuctSox range.

The DuctSox® SG Diffuser-High Throw for Fabric Duct Applications

The DuctSox high-tech flexible polymer diffuser doesn’t attract condensation and delivers throws of over 100 feet for high ceiling applications.
The SG high-throw diffuser for air permeable fabric duct systems in high ceiling applications has been available since 2006 and is used in environments such as natatoriums, retail stores, office lobbies and many other commercial facilities.
The SG2 and SG3 are 2-inch and 3-inch diameter high-technology diffusers that are sewn into laser-cut orifices of DuctSox’s premium anti-microbial fabric duct product, the Sedona-Xm. Unlike nozzles of other fabric duct lines, the SG Series uses a specially-blended flexible polymer composition that doesn’t attract condensation and produces high throw distances of over 100 feet, but without increasing HVAC air distribution system static pressures.
The SG2 and SG3 produces throws of 45 – 72 ft and 48 – 108 ft, respectively, at normal static pressures ranging from 0.25 – 1.25-inches w.g. operating static pressure.
The SG diffuser is available in white or black and designed to match the suspension attachment components. The placement, pattern and linear alignment are custom manufactured to each project’s engineered specifications and maintain DuctSox’s reputation for quiet and highly-engineered air distribution since the early 1980’s.

Laundering and Maintenance Advice for DuctSox Fabric Ducting

Required Maintenance for DuctSox Products: There are three different areas to consider for maintaining your DuctSox Products.
Performance:
DuctSox products have been refined to reduce or eliminate required maintenance. Over years of use, extensive dirt build up will have little, if any, effect on the air dispersion performance of our Premium (Sedona-Xm and TufTex), Commercial (Verona or DuraTex), or Economy (EkoTex) products.
Aesthetic:
Keeping the exterior of your DuctSox looking clean may be very important to you. If this is the case, your maintenance schedule should be no different than with metal duct. Although, keeping your DuctSox looking clean can be much easier and less expensive than keeping your metal duct clean. There are a few things that may help reduce the exterior dusting of a DuctSox, including selecting a porous fabric or cycling the system once daily. The most common options for cleaning your DuctSox include vacuuming and/or using compressed air, or it can be easily removed and laundered.
Hygienic:
Over its lifetime, the interior of a duct system will collect dust and/or other micro-organisms that have been known to contribute to sick building syndrome. DuctSox has a distinct advantage over metal – you can completely launder your fabric duct system. This allows you to clean both the inside and outside of your HVAC system helping to eliminate the contributors of sick building syndrome.
Overall, the laundry requirements for each space varies based on the quality of the filters in the air handling unit, the amount of dirt entrainment entering the space (on people’s shoes and/or clothing), and other location related issues (e.g. near farmland). Based on our experience, average commercial spaces with relatively high traffic and 50% efficient filters may choose to launder their DuctSox after five to seven years. If your fabric is white, a more frequent schedule may be necessary.
Laundry Instructions
All Fabrics
• Remove system and break down into sections
• Turn soiled side out, soak in cold water for 30 minutes
• Any commercial washer with mild detergent should be suitable for laundering your
DuctSox
• Wash cold on a gentle cycle
• Rinse thoroughly (repeat cycle if DuctSox is still soiled)
• Line dry or no-heat tumble dry
If the system becomes dirty or soiled during installation, please coordinate a proper cleaning prior to completion. Exterior surface dirt can, most frequently, be blown off using a combination of a brush and compressed air. Contact us to get your latest project quoted we think you will be pleasantly surprised.

New LabSox D-Fuser is a Snap!
To ensure ease of use, our LabSox products include all the traditional product configurations plus two innovative D-Fusers – the All-Fabric and MetalPan models. Both feature a removable fabric assembly and snap frame that simplifies installation and maintenance. For existing applications, D-Fuser Retrofit Kits are available to outfit most industry standard metal backpans.
All-Fabric Model

The All-Fabric LabSox product features an innovative snap frame aluminum extrusion which secures the fabric assembly in place and allows it to be easily removed for maintenance. With this product, the only ceiling penetration required is for the inlet connection. The slightly larger and deeper 9-inch face profile of the All-Fabric model increases internal mixing volume and decreases average discharge
MetalPan Model

The MetalPan LabSox combines the traditional metal backpan with the unique advantages of a fabric face for improved airflow performance using an industry standard installation method. The construction features a metal backpan with snap frame and fabric face. The shallow 6-inch depth of the face provides a low profile dispersion panel, yet delivers excellent performance.
